Apple has officially released macOS 27 Golden Gate, delivering a significant update that introduces an advanced Siri AI assistant alongside refinements to the Liquid Glass design language and broader performance enhancements. The operating system is compatible with all Macs equipped with Apple Silicon; however, Intel-based Macs are excluded, as Apple issued its final major update for that hardware platform last year with macOS Tahoe.
The most prominent addition in this release is the updated Siri AI. The intelligent assistant now allows users to query information and execute actions within applications such as Messages and Reminders, while also leveraging personal context to search through photos and emails. To facilitate easier access to past interactions, Apple has introduced a dedicated Siri application that maintains a searchable archive of conversation history.
