70-Year-Old Hiker Rescued After Week-Long Search on Isle Royale

A 70-year-old man missing for a week during a solo trek on Michigan’s Isle Royale has been found safe, according to the US Coast Guard. Craig Berg was discovered on Saturday, injured and suffering from hypothermia, but remains alert, a statement on the national park’s Facebook page confirmed.

The rescue effort involved a collaborative search by Michigan state police, local officials, and fellow backpackers who assisted in locating the stranded hiker.
