Hume condemns Hanson’s remarks on Albanese’s mother as ‘gratuitous and unnecessary’

Jane Hume has publicly criticized Pauline Hanson for her remarks regarding the mother of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, describing the comments as “gratuitous and unnecessary.”

Hume expressed disapproval of Hanson’s disparagement of individuals who grew up in social housing, labeling the attitude as distasteful. She further highlighted Hanson’s previous controversial cartoon involving Senator Andrew Hastie, in which a veteran was referred to as a traitor, stating that such treatment of veterans is among the most offensive acts possible.

The former minister suggested that this pattern of unnecessarily provocative rhetoric appears to be a common theme within the One Nation party.
