Jude Bellingham has revealed the key differences in his performance since joining Real Madrid, attributing his success to the tactical freedom provided by manager Jose Mourinho. In an interview with Real Madrid TV, the midfielder explained that he now feels able to decide when to drop deep, remain advanced, or make runs into the box, describing it as the optimal position for his game.

While Mourinho still demands high pressing and possession recovery, the starting point for that work has shifted. Rather than retreating toward his own penalty area, Bellingham is now instructed to press opponents higher up the pitch. This positioning allows him to be closer to the forwards when Madrid win the ball, facilitating stronger connections between midfield and attack, particularly with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
