Zverev and Khachanov Prepare for US Open Semi-Final Amid 9/11 Tributes

Alexander Zverev and Karen Khachanov are set to clash in the first men’s semi-final of the 2026 US Open, with play scheduled to begin at 8pm BST (3pm EST).

Khachanov emerged from the tunnel first, followed by the German player. Reports indicate that Zverev was delayed by approximately two minutes due to needing extra time in the restroom.

The ceremony before the match included a performance of the American national anthem by a retired servicewoman on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The atmosphere was solemn as flags flew at half-mast across the grounds to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Additionally, Arthur Ashe Stadium was illuminated in blue from dusk until dawn as part of the day’s tributes.
