Nikon Stabilized 12×25 Binoculars Drop to Record Low at Best Buy

Nikon’s Stabilized 12×25 binoculars, widely regarded as the premier choice for compact image-stabilized optics, are currently available at Best Buy for $626.95. This $73 discount represents the lowest price observed since Black Friday 2025, undercutting the standard retail cost of $699.95 found on Amazon.

Jase Parnell-Brookes, a trusted expert reviewer for Space.com, awarded the binoculars a perfect five-star rating. In his assessment, he described them as the best compact image-stabilized (IS) binoculars ever tested, praising their effective stabilization, discreet controls, and remarkably small form factor. The model has also been featured in the publication’s guide to the best binoculars as the top pick for compact IS options.

Despite weighing only 13.9 ounces (395 grams), the binoculars deliver rock-steady views, making them highly portable for travel and outdoor use. During testing, Parnell-Brookes successfully observed the Andromeda galaxy and the Orion nebula, noting that while the smaller 25mm objective lenses produce a slightly dimmer image than naked-eye viewing, they offer excellent performance for casual stargazing and brighter deep-sky objects.

Positioned as an affordable entry point into the IS binocular market—where similar models often exceed $1,000—the Nikon 12×25 S was recommended over competing options like the Canon 8×20 IS. Key specifications include 12x magnification, a 4.5-degree angular field of view, and 12.3mm of eye relief. The device launched in November 2024 and has received strong consensus from reviewers, including high marks from Digital Camera World.
