Appeals Court Blocks Trump’s Effort to Restrict Mail-In Voting Before Midterms

A United States appeals court has dismissed Donald Trump’s attempt to enforce sweeping restrictions on mail-in voting ahead of the November midterm elections, delivering another significant legal setback to the president’s efforts to curtail postal balloting.

The Boston-based First Circuit Court of Appeals declined to stay an injunction issued last week by a lower court judge. The existing ruling prevents the United States Postal Service (USPS) from implementing tighter regulations surrounding postal voting.
