Jordanian military systems successfully intercepted the majority of a wave of ballistic missiles launched from Iran on the night of September 9, 2026. According to official statements, air defenses engaged and destroyed 18 out of the 20 projectiles fired toward the kingdom.
Authorities confirmed that there were no reported injuries or significant damage resulting from the incident. Footage captured by witnesses showed the interceptions taking place, with the events clearly visible from the Syrian border city of Daraa.
The intercepts highlight the active role Jordanian forces played in defending national airspace against the ongoing regional tensions between Iran and its adversaries.
