Prince George has commenced his first term at Eton College, marking a significant milestone for the 13-year-old who currently stands second in line to the British throne. The Prince was accompanied to the elite all-boys boarding school by his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, who saw him off as he began his new chapter.
The future king follows the educational path of his father, who also attended the historic institution. Eton College is renowned for its prestigious status and rigorous academic environment, having educated 20 British prime ministers throughout its long history.
The cost of attendance at the private school is approximately £65,000 per year. The BBC’s royal correspondent Daniela Relph noted that the prince can expect a demanding academic and social experience as he settles into life at the college.
I find it fascinating that twenty prime ministers came from this single school. The political influence must be immense.
