Giuliani Attacks Mamdani Over 9/11 Memorial Attendance

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to attend the primary September 11 memorial service, where he will share the stage with former mayor Rudy Giuliani. The event comes just days after Giuliani, who led the city during the 2001 terrorist attacks, publicly disparaged Mamdani’s religion and suggested the current mayor should not participate in the ceremony.

In a weekend interview with Newsmax, a right-leaning media outlet, Giuliani expressed his opposition to Mamdani’s presence. “Having lost friends there and being very close to many of the families, it offends me that he’s coming,” Giuliani stated.

Mamdani has confirmed he will attend the memorial service but declined to comment directly on Giuliani’s remarks during the interview.

  1. Can we focus on the victims instead of personal grudges? This is deeply inappropriate for such a solemn occasion.

  2. Giuliani weaponizing religion at a memorial service is absolutely disgraceful. We should be united, not divided.
