Man Seriously Injured in Tiger Attack at Yorkshire Zoo

A man has been seriously injured after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, authorities confirmed on Saturday. South Yorkshire Police reported receiving calls at 1:35 p.m. regarding the incident, stating that the attack resulted in “serious injury.”

Emergency services responded rapidly, with a spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirming that two ambulances, the air ambulance, and a doctor were dispatched to the scene. The zoo was immediately evacuated and will remain closed for the duration of Sunday.

Police emphasized that there is no wider threat to the public and that the tiger remains contained within the enclosure. Officers are currently working to locate and contact the victim’s family. Authorities also urged the public not to share distressing footage of the incident that has been circulating on social media.

In a statement, Yorkshire Wildlife Park described the event as a “serious incident” and confirmed that emergency response procedures were activated immediately. The organization stated it is collaborating closely with authorities to determine the exact circumstances of the attack, reiterating that the safety of visitors, staff, and animals remains its highest priority.
