Eric Deters, a former lawyer and donor to President Donald Trump, has accused U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle of attempting to exchange access to senior Trump administration officials for a $100,000 payment toward her credit card bill. The allegations, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, center on communications from July 2025, occurring just days prior to Guilfoyle’s Senate confirmation hearing.
Deters, a conservative media personality and Kentucky political figure, told ABC News that the interaction was explicitly transactional. “It was all quid pro quo,” Deters stated. He claimed that Guilfoyle, the former wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom and former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., sent messages expressing desperation for the funds. In one alleged text, Guilfoyle reportedly wrote, “Honey please I need you to get this done for me today.”
