Neeraj Churi has officially attached himself as producer to “About an Intimate Matter” (Ekanto Byaktigoto Bishoy), a Bengali-language queer drama produced by Awedacious Originals. The film is scheduled to make its global debut at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.

  1. Sundance winner backing another Indian indie at Busan is great news. Here’s hoping the queer narrative isn’t exoticized for Western juries.

  2. Is it just me, or does the title sound a bit generic? The subject matter deserves a more striking name, don’t you think?

  3. Neeraj Churi’s track record with Cactus Pears is impressive. I wonder if this project will capture that same raw, authentic energy?

  4. Finally, a Bengali queer film getting this level of festival support. Busan is the perfect stage for such a raw story.
