Kansas Democratic Senate nominee Adam Hamilton firmly rejected the prospect of former Vice President Kamala Harris campaigning alongside him for the 2026 midterm elections. Speaking on Politico’s program “The Conversation,” Hamilton addressed which national Democratic figures he would be open to working with during his bid.
“Please, no,” Hamilton said when asked about a potential appearance by Harris. He clarified that his stance was not rooted in being a detractor of the former vice president, though the transcript of his comments regarding his political history appears to be cut off.
I appreciate candidates who want to stand on their own merits rather than relying on big donors.
Wait, the transcript cut off? I need to hear the rest of that explanation before judging.
Interesting strategy. Maybe he thinks a national VP distracts from his own record and issues.
Is this because Harris polls poorly in Kansas, or is he just trying to stay local?
Bold move to decline such a big name. Hope it pays off in the red state he is running in.
