Veteran journalist Bernard Goldberg has asserted that a significant portion of the American public is suffering from what he describes as “Trump fatigue,” driven by the relentless stream of scandals and provocative actions characterizing Donald Trump’s second presidential term.
In an opinion piece published on The Hill, Goldberg challenged the commonly cited concept of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” arguing instead that the weariness felt by many citizens is a rational response to the continuous turmoil. He suggests that the constant controversies are taking a tangible toll on the national psyche, leading to widespread exhaustion rather than mere political opposition.
Goldberg’s right, but let’s not pretend the other side is immune to burnout too.
Rational exhaustion or political strategy? Hard to tell with these two narratives clashing.
Does this fatigue extend to how we report on every scandal?
I still think critics just hate his policies, not the chaos itself.
Finally someone says it. My inbox is exhausted just reading the headlines daily.
