The upcoming $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will operate under the Skydance brand upon completion next week, according to Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison.
In a recent post on X, Ellison explained the rationale behind the naming decision. He stated that the goal was to establish a distinct identity for the combined entity while ensuring that Paramount, Warner Bros., and the broader portfolio of associated brands would continue to retain their prominence in the spotlight.
This announcement follows a significant legal victory earlier this week, when a judge approved the settlement Paramount reached with California and 11 other states. Those jurisdictions had sued to block the acquisition, but the resolution clears the final major obstacle for the deal.
