Bad Bunny has secured his first Emmy Award, winning in the outstanding variety special (live) category for his performance at the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
“The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny” dominated the ceremony, claiming six additional awards in music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork, and directing. The production had received a total of seven nominations.
The halftime spectacle was widely regarded as one of the most complex in Super Bowl history. The show featured high-profile appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, alongside elements celebrating everyday life, including a real wedding and authentic local vendors such as Villa’s Tacos from Los Angeles.
Harriet Cuddeford, the creative director, previously emphasized the performance’s focus on community and authenticity. Speaking to Variety, she noted that the show aimed to celebrate “normal people” and the human experience of love and joy. Cuddeford highlighted that the event was designed to reflect Bad Bunny’s genuine appreciation for his roots and Latino culture, presenting an unfiltered and realistic portrait on a global stage.
