Elon Musk’s AI-driven alternative to Wikipedia, Grokipedia, has rolled out a significant design update alongside a resumption of community edits. The version 0.3 release for the SpaceXAI project introduces a new visual identity and overhauls key user interface elements.
Benji Taylor, who heads design at SpaceXAI, described the changes as a “newly refreshed Grokipedia.” The update prominently features a new logo and redesigns both the homepage and the page tracking live contributions.
Previously, the platform’s homepage was minimalist, displaying only the Grokipedia logo and a search bar. The updated front page now offers a more content-rich experience, including sections for featured articles and most-read pieces, alongside a real-time tracker for the “latest edits.”
The featured articles section utilizes digital representations of books that users can interact with by spinning them, adding a dynamic element to content discovery. The most-read section has also been refined to improve usability within the v0.3 framework.
I’m skeptical. Wikipedia has decades of trust. A flashy logo doesn’t replace accurate, neutral sourcing.
Wait, so we can actually edit articles now? I thought this was just going to be another static mirror.
Spinning digital books? That sounds cool until you realize how inefficient that is on mobile. Design over function again?
Finally, a homepage that feels like a library instead of a blank void. Love the interactive books!
