A New York prosecutor has reopened an investigation into allegations of gang rape at a Cornell University fraternity, following a lawsuit filed by a woman who says she was sexually assaulted in 2024.
Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten announced Monday that his office would present evidence to a grand jury. The decision comes amid growing public questions about why no criminal charges have been brought in the case so far.
The case centers on claims that the woman was plied with alcohol and drugs by seven students before the alleged assault took place.
