The French Ministry of Education confirmed on Friday that 141 high schools remain closed as nationwide student demonstrations continue into their fifth day.
Despite a commitment made by the education minister on Thursday to deploy an additional 3,000 substitute teachers to reopen classes, the closures persist across the country.
This has gone on long enough. Hope they find a compromise before winter classes are lost.
How do you actually deploy three thousand teachers overnight? Seems like a bureaucratic joke.
It’s frustrating that the substitutes aren’t enough. Students deserve to learn, not just protest.
