Finnish wearables company Oura officially filed for an initial public offering on September 3, marking a significant milestone as the smart ring market becomes increasingly crowded. The company reported that its revenue nearly doubled to $1.21 billion for the nine-month period ending June 30. This shift presents an irony for the category, as the original appeal of smart rings was their unobtrusive nature compared to screens. Critics suggest the market may soon see miniaturized smartphones worn on fingers. Oura entered the U.S. market with its new Ring Pro after a U.S. International Trade Commission ruling in late 2025 favored Oura in a patent dispute, blocking Ultrahuman from importing previous inventory. The new Ring Pro includes a redesigned heart-rate sensor and a dual-core processor to circumvent those patent issues.<\/p>\n
