Upon landing, the envoys were greeted by Kirill Dmitriev, representing the Russian government. This visit follows an announcement by US President Donald Trump on Friday, who confirmed the dispatch of his son-in-law and businessman to both Moscow and Kyiv with a proposal to halt the conflict.<\/p>\n
Trump described the initiative as “an idea for peace” but declined to release specific details, including whether it involves territorial concessions from Ukraine, despite his previous comments on the subject.<\/p>\n
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the American representatives are scheduled to travel to Kyiv on Sunday for further discussions. While recent reports had cast doubt on a visit to Ukraine, Zelenskyy stated that the pair would meet with Ukrainian officials following their Moscow sessions.<\/p>\n
During the upcoming negotiations, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would suspend its airstrikes.
