ARGENTINA \u2014 Argentine President Javier Milei declared on Thursday that international conditions are beginning to shift in Buenos Aires’ favor regarding the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, citing recent comments by US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
In a televised address, the right-wing leader highlighted Trump’s suggestion that Washington may reconsider its longstanding neutral stance on the disputed territory. “President Trump recently stated that the United States is reevaluating its historical position regarding Las Malvinas,” Milei said, using the Argentine name for the archipelago. He characterized the potential diplomatic shift as significant, noting, “Winds of change are blowing across the world in favor of our cause.”<\/p>\n
The Argentine president’s remarks follow Trump’s earlier doubts about American support for Britain in a hypothetical conflict over the islands.
