Fan Hong, a 31-year-old resident of Sichuan province, has been unable to contact her husband, Lin Bo, since the morning of the disaster. Lin Bo was employed on a Chinese highway construction project situated approximately five kilometers from the Gyirong border crossing.<\/p>\n
After failing to receive updates from local authorities, Fan turned to the social media platform Rednote to plead for assistance. “My husband works on a project in Nepal, about 5 kilometres from the Gyirong border crossing. I want to know what the situation is, but I haven’t been able to reach him,” she wrote.<\/p>\n
Tibet advocacy groups have highlighted that information regarding the flood is being restricted online, leaving relatives like Fan Hong to piece together fragmented details from international sources and digital footprints.
