Counter-terror police probe Iran links after explosives found near US-linked RAF base

Armed officers uncovered explosives on three vans parked just minutes away from RAF Fairford, a Gloucestershire airbase utilized by the United States military, prompting an investigation into potential Iranian involvement in a suspected bomb plot.

Counter-terrorism police are now examining the materials recovered from the vehicles. According to The Guardian, investigators hold the initial view that the items are consistent with improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The discovery followed the arrest of five men on terrorism charges. Authorities are currently assessing whether the plot was orchestrated or supported by Iran.
