The gathering marks the inaugural direct meeting between the two figures, who have recently found themselves at odds regarding artificial intelligence regulation. Amodei recently unveiled a strategy advocating for a more cautious approach to AI development, whereas Trump has dismissed concerns about AI backlash as a political fabrication by Democrats. Additionally, the president has expressed a desire to rebrand the technology under the term “super intelligence.”
Tensions have existed between Amodei, his company, and the Trump administration for some time.
