Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has emerged as the largest party in the country’s recent parliamentary election, according to final results released by the Interior Ministry on Friday. The party claimed 97 seats in the House of Representatives, out of a total of 395.
Despite this leading performance, PAM fell short of securing an absolute majority, meaning it will now need to engage in negotiations with other political groups to form a governing coalition.
The party was founded by an advisor closely linked to King Mohammed VI and is commonly referred to by its French acronym, PAM.
