Two individuals have been taken into custody by New York City police after allegedly emerging from manholes at various locations across the city. Authorities believe Kevin Rodriguez and Samuel Reveron were scavening for items that had been washed into the storm drain and sewer systems.
The pair, both aged 25, were arrested on Friday and charged with trespassing and conspiracy, according to a report by local news outlet WABC. Court documents reviewed by the outlet indicate that both men were released without bail, as their charges did not meet the threshold for a bail setting. Reveron was placed under supervised release, while Rodriguez was freed on his own recognizance.
The New York Post reported that Reveron allegedly stated to police, “We go in,” during questioning. The arrests come amid ongoing reports of so-called “mole people” emerging from sewers throughout New York City, prompting law enforcement intervention.
Rodriguez was pictured leaving Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday, September 25, 2026, accompanied by a man in a suit.
