Smart eyewear manufacturer Inmo has issued a recall for its Air3 model following safety concerns regarding overheating components. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the device’s left temple can become dangerously hot during prolonged use, creating a risk of severe burns that could result in serious injury or death.
The CPSC reported receiving 10 complaints from users who experienced a burning sensation on their face and around the left ear while wearing the glasses. To date, no injuries have been reported, but the agency is urging consumers to stop using the device immediately.
The recall encompasses more than 1,600 Air3 glasses sold in the United States and Canada between December 2025 and August 2026. Units were distributed through Inmo’s official website, Amazon, and a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
Inmo is offering consumers a free software update to address the issue. Owners of the affected devices are advised to contact the company to obtain the update and learn more about the recall process.
