Bentley has introduced its maiden all-electric vehicle, the Torcal SUV, which employs a synthesized audio system to replicate the auditory experience traditionally provided by combustion engines. The launch is supported by a £350 million investment in the Volkswagen-owned manufacturer’s operations within the United Kingdom.
Designed as the brand’s most accessible model, the Torcal carries a starting price of £173,000. It will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Crewe, a move that secures employment for approximately 4,000 workers at the site.
The new electric crossover offers a driving range of up to 375 miles on a single charge, marking a significant step in the luxury automaker’s transition toward zero-emission mobility while maintaining its commitment to British manufacturing.
