Chris McGuire, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations specializing in China and emerging technologies, described a dedicated channel for discussing national security-related events as a “modest” yet constructive measure. However, he cautioned that any agreement to decelerate the rapid pace of AI advancement is “extremely unlikely.”
