The proposed merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery is approaching its closing date, promising to create one of the most vast media conglomerates in history. With the 12-state antitrust lawsuit against the deal now settled, David Ellison informed employees on Monday that he anticipates the transaction to finalize within approximately two weeks.

What distinguishes this merger from previous industry consolidations is the sheer volume of brands and intellectual property involved. By combining the television shows, films, streaming platforms, and networks of both Paramount—acquired last year by Skydance Media—and Warner Bros., which was previously purchased by Discovery, the newly formed entity will effectively double its existing content library.
