At least four individuals sustained injuries following a series of powerful blasts at a weapons storage facility in northern Syria, state media reported on Monday. Authorities have ordered the public to avoid the area as emergency responders continue to manage the scene.
The incident occurred early in the morning near the town of al-Eis, located south of Aleppo, according to the state-run SANA news agency. While the origin of the detonations remains unclear, officials confirmed that civil defence teams successfully evacuated the four injured parties from the site.
Faisal Mohammad Ali, who leads civil defence operations in the region, informed SANA that ongoing explosions have hindered the progress of emergency services, preventing them from fully accessing the depot. He strongly urged civilians to stay clear of the vicinity due to the continued danger.
Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib also issued a statement advising residents to remain indoors for the time being. He noted that hospitals, ambulance crews, and emergency teams are operating on full alert to handle potential casualties.
To ensure public safety, Aleppo’s Internal Security Command closed all roads leading to the explosion site, restricting access to essential personnel only.
