Financial pressures are intensifying as the average learner requires around 45 hours of professional instruction and an additional 22 hours of private practice. Beyond lesson fees, candidates must also cover a £23 theory test, a £65 practical exam, and temporary insurance premiums that can range from £40 to £50 monthly.
Megan Kielthy, an 18-year-old who passed her test in August, credited social media with helping her manage expenses. Although she spent over £1,000 on lessons funded by babysitting income and parental support, she utilized YouTube to reinforce what she learned in the car.
