Originating in Hungary more than ten years ago, teqball blends elements of football and table tennis. At the Sports Science Centre in Bangkok, Thailand’s Jutatip Kuntatong soared through the air for a bicycle kick, driving the ball onto the curved table with enough force to reverberate through the facility.
Kuntatong, who is set to represent Thailand at the Asian Games commencing on Saturday, had never encountered the sport six years prior. She has since risen to become the reigning world champion.
Hungary invented it, but Thailand is dominating the world stage now? What a shift in the sport’s landscape.
Never heard of teqball before! The bicycle kicks look absolutely insane on that curved table.
