Razer has officially introduced the Tartarus V2 Pro, an updated iteration of its popular one-handed gaming keypad. The device maintains the ergonomic design of its predecessor, featuring an adjustable palm rest and a non-traditional layout comprising over 30 fully programmable keys rather than a standard QWERTY arrangement.
The V2 Pro brings several hardware enhancements, most notably upgraded optical switches that offer a wider actuation depth range. Additionally, the integrated thumbpad has been revised to an analog TMR (tunneling magnetoresistance) design, replacing the previous configuration.
Software-level innovations include two new proprietary input controls: Snap Flex and Snap Tap. Snap Flex allows users to map two distinct keys to a single press, facilitating consistent multi-key actions. Conversely, Snap Tap prevents two selected keys from being activated simultaneously, a feature particularly beneficial for first-person shooter players who frequently strafe, as it eliminates accidental inputs that can cause character movement to cancel out.
Each of the 31 keys and buttons supports individual RGB lighting for customization and can be programmed via Razer’s Synapse software. The Tartarus V2 Pro is available immediately with a price tag of $200.
