Dyson Unveils Nurovi Robot Vacuum Line with Lidar Navigation and UV Stain Detection

Dyson has officially expanded its robotic cleaning portfolio with the launch of the Nurovi line, introducing three new robot vacuums that replace the company’s previous camera-based navigation with Lidar technology. The announcement follows Dyson’s recent September product drops, which included both handheld vacuums and an electric toothbrush equipped with a built-in camera.

The new lineup features a unified light gray aesthetic designed to differentiate the units from the existing Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai model, while retaining the brand’s signature canister-style base stations. According to Dyson, all three Nurovi models utilize Lidar laser-precision navigation and a Twin-Capture System engineered to lift dust and debris from both hard floors and carpets.

The entry-level Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is priced at $550 and functions as a vacuum-only unit. Mid-tier, the Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash + Dry retails for $700 and offers combined vacuuming and mopping capabilities, though it will be exclusively available through Costco memberships. At the top of the range sits the Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, priced at $1,200. This premium model distinguishes itself with a UV light feature designed to help locate stains on flooring. Both the R1 and R3 models are available for purchase directly via Dyson’s website and other retailers.

  1. The $550 price point for the R1 is surprisingly competitive. Maybe Dyson is finally making robots accessible again.

  2. Wait, the mid-range model is Costco only? That is so frustrating for people who do not have memberships nearby.
