Boox has announced three new e-ink devices running Android 16 with pre-installed Google Play Store access. The lineup includes an updated palm-sized reader, a large color tablet, and a mid-size mobile device, all designed to expand the company’s ecosystem.
The flagship Boox Palma 3 features an anodized aluminum chassis, a significant upgrade from the plastic frames found on previous models. It sports a 6.13-inch HD E Ink screen equipped with a dual-tone front light and 128GB of internal storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD.
Notably, the Palma 3 supports the Boox InkSense Plus stylus, allowing users to annotate documents and save notes to the cloud. The device also includes a 16MP rear camera with a flash for document scanning, dual microphones for voice memos, and speech-to-text functionality. Its 3,950mAh battery is designed to last several days, though heavy camera use may reduce longevity.
Priced at $320, the Palma 3 is $60 cheaper than its predecessor, the Palma 2 Pro. However, the stylus is sold separately for $46. The device will be available in black or white, though it is not yet on sale.
Also introduced is the 10.3-inch Note Air6 C, which features a large color E Ink display for reading and note-taking without switching screens. It introduces a ‘Dual Notes’ feature for annotating two documents simultaneously and supports the Boox Pen3 stylus. A keyboard cover connects via pogo pins. The base model is priced at $580, while the bundle with the keyboard cover costs $657.
The third device, the Note Mini C, targets mobile professionals with an 8.52-inch color E Ink screen and a fingerprint-enabled power button. It supports enterprise applications including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Slack, and OneDrive, and comes with a stylus. Boox lists the Note Mini C as available soon for $550.
Does anyone know if the Note Mini C supports third-party apps or just those enterprise ones? The Slack integration is tempting but limited.
