Boox has officially introduced its third-generation Palma e-reader, continuing the brand’s focus on compact, smartphone-sized E Ink devices. The announcement was part of a broader update released last night that also included two new color digital notebooks: the Note Air6 C and the Note Mini C.
While the tech world recently focused on Apple’s September iPhone event, Boox is targeting a more niche audience of e-paper enthusiasts. The new Palma 3 joins the company’s popular line of Android-based E Ink tablets and notebooks, which are designed to mimic the appearance of traditional ink on paper while offering smart functionality.
Alongside the Palma 3, Boox released details on its updated Note Air series. The Note Air6 C, priced at $580, features a 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 color display and runs on Android 16. This model is engineered for productivity, supporting dual-document annotation through new firmware and incorporating AI-driven features such as audio insights and document summarization. It is the only one of the three new devices currently available for purchase.
Also introduced is the Note Mini C, which carries the same $580 price tag but features a smaller, more portable 8.52-inch Kaleido 3 screen. Designed for one-handed use and on-the-go work, it shares similar internal specifications with the Air6 C, including an octa-core processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. Unlike the Air6 C, the Mini C is not yet on sale, with Boox indicating it will be available soon.
The Palma 3 is priced at $340, maintaining Boox’s strategy of offering more affordable, portable options within its E Ink ecosystem. As fall launches continue to roll out across the tech industry, these additions solidify Boox’s position in the growing market for color e-paper devices.
