Mass Olive Ridley Turtle Nesting Event Rocks Southern Mexico

Mass Olive Ridley Turtle Nesting Event Rocks Southern Mexico

A massive congregation of more than 300,000 olive ridley turtles has returned to a beach in southern Mexico for a significant nesting season. Thousands of the reptiles surged ashore as part of this latest synchronized mass nesting event, creating a spectacular natural display.

Despite the impressive turnout, conservationists warn that the long-term viability of these populations faces serious challenges. Warmer and drier weather patterns, increasingly driven by climate change, are severely threatening the survival rates of newly hatched turtles on these beaches.
