Volkswagen has unveiled the Mission Efficiency, a near-production electric coupe prototype that the automaker describes as the most aerodynamic road-legal vehicle in the world. Distinct from competitors like the Tesla Cybercab, the two-plus-two seater is engineered on the MEB+ platform and integrates front-wheel drive components slated for future models such as the ID. The vehicle’s primary objective is record-breaking performance. According to Volkswagen, the Mission Efficiency boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.158. During a constant-speed test drive conducted at 68 km/h, the prototype demonstrated an energy consumption rate of 6.48 kWh per 100 kilometers, setting a new benchmark for energy efficiency in electric vehicles.
