President Donald Trump issued a request on Friday via social media for the Smithsonian Institution to install a massive 30-foot “Colossus statue” depicting George Washington. The monument would be positioned outside the National Museum of American History, accompanied by a dedicated exhibit honoring the United States’ first president.
In his post, Trump specified that the display should remain in place until February 2032. This timeline aligns with the 300th anniversary of Washington’s birth, marking a significant historical milestone for the nation’s founding figure.
