Former U.S. Presidents Gather at Ground Zero for 9/11 25th Anniversary

NEW YORK — Three former U.S. presidents stood together on Friday morning as New York City observed the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Former President Barack Obama, former President Joe Biden, and former President George W. Bush, accompanied by their wives, were present for the ceremonial tribute at Ground Zero.

The gathering marked a significant milestone in the national remembrance of the attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. As part of the broader commemorations, current President Trump traveled to the Pentagon for a separate ceremony, while additional observances were held in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed.

The event drew attention from 9/11 families, some of whom called on the current administration to pursue accountability regarding Saudi Arabia’s role in the attacks. The anniversary also highlighted ongoing concerns for first responders and survivors navigating long-term health impacts, as well as heightened security measures deployed across the city.
