The comments come as the university faces significant turmoil within its football program. A former general manager has resigned, and Belichick’s son, Steve Belichick, is currently on medical leave. In response to these developments, the university has launched a formal investigation into the program’s operations.
Addressing the situation, the elder Belichick emphasized personal accountability. “Obviously everybody’s responsible, including me, for doing things properly,” he said. “And we intend to do that.” He firmly denied reports that he has lost control of the team, maintaining that the program is committed to adhering to all regulations.
