Israeli Airstrikes Kill 11 in Southern Lebanon Village

Israeli air strikes targeted a village in southern Lebanon overnight, killing at least 11 people, Lebanese state media reported. The toll includes two children among the dead.

According to the National News Agency, a strike shortly after midnight destroyed a three-storey residential building in Kfar Rumman, resulting in nine fatalities. A second attack hit a vehicle, killing two paramedics.

The Israeli military stated it is currently reviewing the reports surrounding the incident. This comes just one day after Israeli strikes killed seven people in the same region, an action Israel described as retaliation for drone attacks by Hezbollah on its forces in occupied territories.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attacks as a “dangerous escalation,” warning that they jeopardize the ceasefire agreed upon in June under US auspices, which was designed to conclude the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
