Authorities successfully evacuated roughly 70 participants from Utah’s Moab 240 ultramarathon on Sunday following dangerous flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel.
The runners had become stranded along the race route as water levels rose due to the storm system. Event organizer Destination Trail coordinated the emergency rescue operation and confirmed via a social media statement that all athletes were accounted for and unharmed.
