The Beach Boys performed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Sunday evening, an event that many attendees and industry insiders believe may mark the final appearance of Mike Love as the leader of the touring band. While no formal retirement announcement was made from the stage, longtime collaborator John Stamos suggested the concert could serve as the group’s swan song.
Stamos, who has appeared with the Beach Boys intermittently for 41 years, shared a detailed message on Facebook prior to the show, writing that while he hopes it is not the end, a part of him suspects it might be the last time he stands behind Love to perform.
