Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed former US President Donald Trump’s recent declaration that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure.
In his response, Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is prepared to cease strikes on energy sites, provided that Moscow offers a reciprocal commitment. As of now, Russia has not issued a response to Trump’s assertion regarding the agreement.
Good news if it holds. Protecting the grid would save thousands of lives during winter. Fingers crossed for real reciprocity this time.
Skepticism is high here. Has Russia ever kept a promise like this? I’ll believe it when I see concrete action, not just words.
