Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated on Sunday that his government is still waiting for concrete information from the United States concerning an energy ceasefire with Russia. The announcement came after President Donald Trump declared that the agreement had already been implemented.
Addressing the situation, Zelensky expressed Kyiv’s willingness to back the truce but emphasized the necessity for Moscow to reciprocate. He noted that while Ukraine supports the measure, clear details must still be provided by Washington to ensure the terms are understood and upheld.
Good that Ukraine is willing, but they must ensure Moscow reciprocates equally. No more half-measures please.
An energy ceasefire is a start, but without enforcement mechanisms, I remain deeply skeptical about lasting peace.
This sounds like classic diplomatic confusion. Hopefully, Washington clarifies things soon so Russia doesn’t exploit the ambiguity.
I guess the devil is in the details here. Zelensky is right to demand specifics before committing fully.
It is quite confusing that Kyiv is waiting for details Trump says are already in effect. How can any truce hold without clear terms?
