If you experience issues with your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, the first step is determining whether your device remains under warranty. Samsung has streamlined this process on newer hardware. For devices running One UI 9, a dedicated menu provides immediate access to warranty details, diagnostics, and repair options. However, users on older software versions still have reliable methods to check their coverage status.
For those on One UI 9, navigating to Settings and selecting Warranty and care is the most direct route. This section displays your device’s specific coverage type and expiration date at the top. It also aggregates information for other Galaxy devices linked to your Samsung account. Beyond basic warranty data, the menu features built-in hardware diagnostics for components such as the battery, charging port, screen, camera, and sensors. If a diagnostic test identifies an issue, you can proceed directly to repair options within the same menu. Additionally, users can request troubleshooting assistance from Bixby.
If your device does not yet support One UI 9, the Samsung Members app serves as an effective alternative. Pre-installed on most Galaxy devices, the app can also be downloaded from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store if necessary. After signing in, tap Support in the bottom navigation bar; older app versions may label this option Get help. From here, you can register your device, verify its status, and access various support tools. Depending on your region, app version, and specific model, the app may display product and warranty details directly.
In cases where the above methods do not yield results, Samsung’s online portal offers a comprehensive fallback. By signing into your Samsung account at the company’s online devices portal, you can view registered products and their warranty status under My Products. If your device is not yet listed, you will need to register it using the serial number or IMEI, which can be found in Settings under About phone or About tablet. Should the system display an incorrect expiration date, a Review Warranty or warranty dispute option allows you to submit proof of purchase to correct the record.
The built-in diagnostics are a nice touch. It is convenient to run a battery test and book a repair in the same menu if something fails.
Great article. I wish Samsung would push these features to older devices instead of forcing everyone to upgrade their hardware just to check warranty status.
The Samsung Members app saved me! My settings didn’t show the option yet, but the app gave me the exact expiry date immediately.
My phone still says I’m out of warranty but I bought it last year. Does anyone know how to fix incorrect expiration dates on Samsung’s site?
I never knew One UI 9 had a dedicated warranty menu! That makes checking coverage so much easier than digging through apps.
